Retirement Benefits?
After spending 64 years in the United States, I did what any rational retiree would do...
I packed up my life and moved to Japan.
Now, before you give me too much credit, this wasn't exactly a spur-of-the-moment decision. I'd spent more than 41 years working in the Japanese technology industry, traveled here countless times, married a Japanese woman, and figured I had a pretty good handle on the place.
Turns out there's a big difference between visiting Japan and actually living here.
Who knew?
This channel is about that adventure: the good, the bad, the confusing, and the occasional moment when I stare at some piece of Japanese bureaucracy and wonder if I've accidentally traveled back to 1957.
I'll share what I've learned, the surprises I've encountered, the mistakes I've made, and why, despite all the challenges, I still love living here.
So come along and watch an American retiree try to figure out Japan.
Four years in, and I'm still taking notes.
